1st Nigerians to hoist it’s flag on the highest mountain in Eastern Europe of Ukraine

History was made on the Saturday,25th sept 2011 when two Nigerians Chinedu Agunanne and Iroko Emamuzo who are final year Pharmacy students of Ternopil State Medical University in Ternopil City of Ukraine climbed to the highest peak of Hoverla mountain (Ukrainian: Говерла, Hoverla; Hungarian: Hóvár; Romanian: Hovârla; Goverla, Czech and Slovak: Hoverla, Polish: Howerla, Russian: Говерла ) which is 2,061 m, and the highest mountain in Ukraine and part of the Carpathian Mountains.

Pregnant Beyonce Hates the Way Jay-Z Smells Now

Now that Beyonce is pregnant, the 30-year-old singer says her sense of smell isn't what it used to be.

While promoting her Pulse fragrance on ET Canada, Knowles admitted that her 41-year-old husband Jay-Z's signature scent has recently become a turnoff.

"I smell everything," she said. "If it smells bad, I smell it. My husband's fragrance, his one that I always love, I hate right now. So thank God I have this one!"

That's not the only change Beyonce has noticed since announcing her pregnancy at the MTV Video Music Awards in August. "I feel empowered!" she recently told the Associated Press. "It is the most powerful creation for you to be able to have a life growing inside of you."

The couple has wasted no time prepping for the arrival of their first child. A nanny search is under way, and the pair have already lined up a live-in expert for the first month -- the Grammy winner's mom, Tina Knowles, 57

Though Beyonce claims she doesn't know the sex of her baby, she has reportedly bought pink Christian Louboutin baby booties. Plus, a source tells the new issue of Us Weekly -- out Friday! -- that the A-list couple has already picked out a name.
Says a source: "Jay told his sister to order a whole wardrobe of baby-girl clothes!"

‘I prefer African prints in western style’----J'odie - Kuchi Kuchi (Oh Baby)

Joy Odiete Joy Odiete, popularly known as “Jodie” could best be described as a natural woman. She came to the limelight as a contestant in the premier edition of ‘Idols, West Africa’ in 2007 where she came out sixth. Late last year she released her single entitled, ‘Kuchi kuchi’. She tells Angela Davies about her style.

What is style to you?

It is being yourself, confident and loking beautiful.

Define your own style

My own style is African and simple. I love to wear African prints in a Western style.

Your hair

I don’t have perms on my hair. I carry my hair natural. I could twist the hair, pack it or just comb it out. It depends on how I want it at that particular time.

Accessories

I make beads so I love wearing beads with western touch.

Who are your favourite designers local and international?

I am not a designer freak. I create what I wear. All I do is to tell my tailor what I want and how I want it.

Favourite perfume

I really don’t have a particular one. I like good perfumes though.

How do you relax?

I have my bath, stay home and watch movies. Sometimes I hang out with friends and once in a while, I read books.

How is your normal day like?

Once I wake up, I pray and read my Bible. After which I make jewelry like beads, hair pieces and bracelets. Other days, it could be music. Really, I shuttle between jewelry making and music.

Describe yourself in three words

Young, godly and beautiful.

What is your best colour?

I like earthy colours like brown, bronze and cream, especially bronze.

Make-up

I like my make-up light.

Nails

I carry my nails natural. Fixing my nails disturbs my bead making. Besides that I like it that way.

What fashion item can’t you do without?

I cannot do without my Mary K foundation. It sets the base for my make-up. I like that even tone it gives to my face.

How do you keep fit?

I drink a lot of water. Sometimes I exercise.

What puts you off in fashion?

I don’t like indecent dressing. By that I mean over exaggerated exposure of vital body parts.

Your kind of shoes

I love pencil heels.

Philosophy of life

God is everything.

Tiwa Savage, ill Rhymes Are Hosts of Nigerian Idol Season 2

R&B singer Tiwa Savage and popular Video Jockey Ill Rhymes have been named as the new hosts at the second season of the Nigerian Idol reality TV show. This was made known by Optima Media Group (OMG), organizers of the reality show today Wednesday, September 28, 2011 at the Oriental Hotel, Lekki, Lagos.

Tiwa (whose is a product of the X-Factor reality show in the UK) and Ill Rhymes will be replacing season one’s hosts Misi Molu and Anis Halloway. Misi confirmed her replacement today via her Twitter account. ‘Announcement to be made today! I’m no longer the host for Nigerian Idol!!! Really Sux!!! But I’ve gotta move forward and hope for the best!‘, @MisiMolu tweeted.

Also, Audu Maikori who was a judge on the show’s first season has been replaced with popular singer/entertainer Charly Boy. This year’s viewership according to Rotimi Pedro, C.E.O of OMG, will increase to nine countries as opposed to five countries in season one.

Also this year’s prize has been increased to a whooping sum of a hundred thousand Dollars which will cover a recording contract. The first runner up will walk away with 2.5M Naira while the second runner up will win 1M Naira.

Mo-Hits PR Responds To Dbanj & Don Jazzy Drug Arrest Rumors

Reports surfaced that Don Jazzy & Dbanj were arrested for drug trafficking via an online media outlet. The Mo-Hits camp have officially reacted with this statement below.

Dbanj and Don Jazzy are in Lagos. They are no where near New York. The two respected artistes are proud Nigerians doing the country proud worldwide. They do not need to peddle drugs as they are successful young men who worked hard to get to where they are today.

The report making the rounds that they were arrested in America on Sunday is false and an attempt to tarnish the image of these proudly Nigerian artistes. Its a figment of someone’s evil imagination. D’banj’s media company, Media Image Managers are not losing sleep about this malacious campaign, but records must be set straight. D’banj and Don Jazzy are at their Lekki home in Lagos, Nigeria, they are well and okay.
They have had no brush with the law for any reason, not even for a traffic offence.

Here is what the original news article looked like:
Nigerian popular music sensation Dapo Oyebanji a.k.a D’Banj and CEO of MO’Hits Micheal Eneili a.k.a Don Jazzy, have been arrested by local authorities in the United States for alleged drug trafficking.
According to our sources they were apprehended last night after the F.B.I recieved an anonymous tip that the Nigerian duo were arriving the JFK airport “loaded”.
About 100kilos of substance suspected to be cocaine was recoverd from their luggage and the Nigerians are currently being detained by the F.B.I pending further investigations and subsequent court hearing.
This comes as a big blow for G.O.O.D Music, who just recently, signed the multi- talented duo. Attempts to reach Mr. Carter (Jay-Z) C.E.O G.O.O.D Music or Kanye West had proved futile as at the time of this report.

Tonto Dikeh Talks About Her Parents Reaction To Her Movies And Why She is Addicted To Smoking

Controversial Nollywood actress Tonto Dikeh reveals more about herself in a recent interview, she explains her parents reaction to her movies and why she cannot stop smoking.
You can view the interview below:
How would you described your career at the moment?
I think it’s really flourishing,it’s doing very well.I am happy about it and with the Damage produced by Uche Jumbo which I featured in,I believe my career has been taken to the next level.
I am really happy for the success.
No doubt,Tonto Dikeh is among the hottest actresses right now,how does it feel?
It feels great but really I don’t see myself from that angle.
How would you describe yourself?
I think I can say I am a very broad minded person.I have a good heart.
But the impression out there is that Tonto Dikeh is a controversial actress, what is your reaction to this?
Yes,a lot of people say I am controversial.I can even say that about myself.Tonto is that,Tonto is this, today Tonto is doing this, tomorrow she is doing that.I can say categorically that I am very controversial but why it’s like that is what I do not know.
I think that Africans are not all that exposed to a lot of daring acts and once you do that, you become a very strange person to them.
And before you know it,you have become a topic. It goes on and on like that just because you have deviated from who they think you’re.
Just because you’re doing something different from what others do,they will call you a lot of names, that’s just what I can say about that
You have been perceived as an actress that finds delight in controversial movies to the extent that you,at times kiss endlessly,do you enjoy that kind of role?
What happens is that I love doing my work the way it should be done and I am doing it well.Like I always say,if you take out movie in me being a village girl and you take out of me being a hull, you can’t fault anyone.
I am good at that,I am good at this.It is not just because you see me that way in movies and you think that’s the way I am in real life.
But to some extent, all these roles to some people are indecent, how,do you feel about that?
I think why I can’t see anything wrong about it is because I am an artist but it is easy for you to see the other side of people and judge who is climbing, but left to me,I don’t see any offence in that because it’s a movie and am interpreting a role according to the script.
I am trying to tell a story. So,just like I have told you,I don’t need to be judged by what I do in movies.Anybody, who does that,is just giving him or herself unnecessary headache.
Does that mean your real self is kilometers away from Tonto Dikeh people see on the screen?
Of course, yes,I am free to be a different Tonto in every role I interprete in a movie. But I also believe I have my personality at stake. So,I can’t do anything that will affect my personality.
In most cases, you’re comfortable kissing endlessly in movies, what’s your reaction on that?
To me,that’s very easy.I take things like that for granted. So,far it’s over,it’s over.It doesn’t reflect in my life.Immediately I am through with that kind of role,I leave and start thinking of what next to do.
On June 9,2011,you added another year,we learnt you received a lot of gifts topped by a brand new BMW 6 series given to you by your fiancé?
I am not going to talk on anything like that.Besides,I don’t have a fiancé.
But you have a boyfriend that was actually responsible for that if not fiancé?
Really? I didn’t see any one around.(Laughs)
Some people are saying you and Halima are no longer in good terms, how true is it?
That’s not true.Immediately you came in,I asked you about her.
That tells you that what people are saying does not exist at all.It is only that we are no longer close as we used to be.Anytime we see,we talk and we have drinks.
We don’t have issues at all. It’s just that we have to move on and do something different for ourselves.
How do your parents react to all these movie roles you interprete?
I thank God for the kind of family I am from. They are very understanding, they know its all about my job and nothing else.
Aside acting,if I do something wrong, they still scold me and advice me the right way. They have been very supportive.
Another issue your fans complain about is that you’re a smoker and you have once admitted enjoying it,what’s your reaction?
I appreciate the fact that people are getting worried about that but why? Is it because I am Tonto Dikeh or because they love me and they want me to be in good health? They”re two different things but I don’t care.I care only when you give reasons for talking about me smoking.
I don’t think that should affect you,so far you’re not my brother or my sister. We are not from the same family.
My smoking habit doesn’t affect your life in any way.If I die tomorrow, you’re not going to bury me.My father has the money to bury me.So,why are they talking about it?
Don’t you know some people love you and they want to see more of you as an actress?
That’s what I am saying,it all depends on the motive, any good reason for writing about it or posting it on the internet? I have not seen any reason as far as I am concerned.Period.
May be because of the wide campaign that smokers are liable to die young and they won’t want that kind of a thing to happen to you?
(Cuts in) Even if I am going to die young,I am not their sister. It’s something I know is a bad habit and I think I should stop it.That will be done at the right time. It’s not as if I see it as something I should be proud about,it’s just a terrible habit that I am used to.
I will stop it at my own time, people should just give me a breathing space.

Sasha thinks failed rap career is telling on her love life

Nigerian female rapper, Sasha who was once rumoured to be romantically involved with naeto C has kept her private life mostly under wraps.
Sasha on her love life, shared that she believes her being involved in hiphop shouldn’t have discouraged her male admirers. In this interview, she sounded like a lady whom her career has taken all her focus. The hiphop lady is saying, you must love her for who she is.
Excerpts from her interview on Vanguard
Will you tag yourself a tomboy?
No o! I know I started off as a tom boy because a lot of things that my female friends will do were not interesting to me except for maybe shopping (laughs). I probably started of as a tom boy because I was a bit more brazen, adventurous and outspoken but I don’t really think I am anymore. I’m a woman now I’ve grown over the years; that I am feisty doesn’t mean that I’m manly.
…People say when they see me on stage I look so aggressive. I believe that the content of what you are saying matters. If you watch the Adara video, I wasn’t aggressive there because of the message in the song. You have to communicate your message in your songs. The fact is that I might be aggressive when I’m on stage, but then, I try to communicate my message to the audience. I hate to be a tom boy.
Do you think this has discouraged male admirers?
Well I certainly hope not, because I’m an African woman and African women are the strong confident ones and this is exactly how we expect our men to be. But then I don’t just come at you and dare you. I’m not that kind of person. If a man is confident in himself then whatever it is that I am doing should not be a deterant to whatever it is he feels about me. It should not be a problem. But I do get to hear people say ha! Sasha you have to calm down o! because you know you might be scaring men away but then I say what have I done to scare anyone. I mean this is what I do and so it depends really on the individual. It’s not about age or about any thing. It’s about the confidence of the person involved. I don’t see why you should see my performances as a deterant to anything that you might have in mind.

Arrests Made On ABSU Gang Rape Case

BBC is reporting that the Nigerian police have arrested two people in connection with the gang-rape of a woman posted on the internet.
Bala Hassan, the commissioner for police in Abia State, said the two men were detained after cyber activists posted pictures and names online. There are no reports of who the suspects are as of right now.
The video has been the hot topic of discussion all over country this past week and has shocked Nigeria both for the brutal nature of the rape and the initial failure to investigate. The news was eventually carried by the Associated Press.
Despite the video of the rape being widely watched online, officials in Abia State had declared their short investigations over as the victim had not come forward, and an official statement from the governor claimed the rapists were not ABSU students and the video was put together by his political enemies.
What followed was a sustained campaign on social networks to force the police back into action and to uncover clues from the video that might identify the culprits.
On Thursday the Nigerian national assembly called on the police to re-open their investigation.
Three days later, based purely on names and photos posted online, they have made two arrests.
The rape victim also appears to have been located and women’s rights group has said they are now in touch with her and are trying to get her out of Abia State to where she can receive counselling and medical attention.
This high-profile case has highlighted what campaigners say is the Nigerian police’s refusal to take rape seriously as a crime.

AMBER ROSE HITS BACK AT CRITICS ‘I’M A HUMAN BEING!’

US model and video vixen Amber Rose has hit back at the negative comments and criticism she has received over her recent trip to an Islamic local all-girls school in Ghana. Comments have been flying in, suggesting that Rose is not fit to be a role model to the kids.

Amber, a West African, had travelled all the way from the US to Ghana on September 18, 2011 to offer the ladies ‘words of encouragement’.

The model has been a media punching bag in recent months due to the series of nude pictures of hers which were leaked on the internet a few months ago. Rose took to her blog to set the record straight.

Read Rose’s note below…

You do something positive in this industry you get scrutinized. I really came to the conclusion that it’s not even about me; it’s the fact that I’m a woman. Men in the entertainment industry are praised constantly for their ‘wrong doings’.

If you’re a drug dealer and you took care of your family before your fame everyone understands. If you get shot in the mist of you hustling you’re cool as f**k. If a man’s naked picture hits the internet people think it is cute or funny then just talk about how big he is. A Man can date 20 models at the same time and he is respected by the world and if a girl does it she’s a disgusting whore and a ‘Star F**ker’. Women get destroyed by the media and our peers constantly but I am writing this to specifically speak about myself.

Regardless of the fact I dated Kanye for 2 years or the fact I was a stripper at 15 years old or that my most private pictures were stolen from me and a new batch hit the internet every week, I am a human being. I’m a daughter, a best friend, a great wife and an all around good person. I never speak negatively about anyone. Have I? NO. You think I don’t want to? I course I do I’m human. But I keep my life positive and I stay strong every time my ex talks about me in his songs or when these blogs tell nothing but lies about me or when people say that I shouldn’t be speaking to young girls in Africa. Why wouldn’t I speak to those girls? I AM West African just like them, I grew up poor just like them, most of those girls quit school to take care of their families JUST LIKE I DID. So how the hell do they not relate to my life and I theirs? Talking to those young girls wasn’t a job for me feeding those kids wasn’t a job for me it wasn’t for publicity and I didn’t get paid to do it. I went there because I LOVE to help people. I DON’T want a pat on the back for s**t that I do from my heart or even a thank you it was my blessing to go out to Ghana it is a second home for me now and it changed my life FOREVER! So don’t criticize me and say why is Kanye’s ex stripper girlfriend in Africa I am so much more then that (smh).

There is a reason why he loved me so much and there’s a reason why Wiz loves me so much now did you ever think maybe I’m just a sweet person? Every girl reading this has an ex boyfriend and every guy reading this is most likely dating a girl that has been with more than one guy. So what have I done to everyone? Is it because you think I am undeserving of this life because of my past? Or is it pure hatred? If I was a man and dated 2 female artistes, would that be ok? That’s not as bad right? BS.

And the one thing that is extremely upsetting is the fact that woman criticize me more than men do. Look at yourselves before you criticize someone you don’t know Look at the mistakes you’ve made in your life. People are so negative, it’s ridiculous but I will continue to be positive, loving and all about women empowerment and to my Rosebuds I know you guys get it and I LOOOOVE you so much for supporting me through all of this nonsense. Thank you -Amber

SEAN KINGSTON FINED $180 FOR JET SKI ACCIDENT

After a three months of a thorough investigation into Sean Kingston‘s near-fatal jet-ski accident, Police have blamed the chubby looking singer for the crash that almost cost him his life as well as his co-passenger Cassandra Sanchez.

According to TMZ, a report released by the police stated that Kingston was solely to blame for his accident because of his ‘inexperience and inattention’. It further stated that the 21-year-old singer did not know basic boating-safety procedures before operating the watercraft on Sunday, May 30, 2011.

The Jamaican-American singer was rescued by Coast Guard Jonathan Rivera and rushed to the trauma unit of the Jackson Memorial Hospital and a day later into the Intensive Care Unit where he laid in critical condition. A few weeks later, he made a miraculous recovery and even threw a party with friend Soulja Boi a few days later

Kingston has been fined $180 (One hundred and eighty Dollars) for ‘careless operation of a vehicle in an accident’.

New: Wizkid and Skales - It wasn't Me

2/3 of the EME boyz, WizKid & Skales release a cover to a pretty popular and dope tune, No Church In The Wild, from Jay-Z & Kanye’s album, Watch The Throne (WTT)
We all know Skales is next in line from the EME crew so it’s good to see him go in on this track.
Pretty hot cover. EME boys rarely fall hand, so you can only expect the best.
WizKid pretty much vexed on this track…. For good reason though. He’s had every rumor thrown his way in the past year.
Enjoy.

PETER OKOYE PAYS SON SURPRISE BIRTHDAY VISIT WITH WIZKID

Friday, September 23, 2011 will remain remarkable for kids and members of staff of Footsteps Playgroup, as they received an unplanned visitation from Wizkid. The occasion was Cameron Okoye’s birthday, and the lucky kid’s parents – Peter Okoye (of PSquare)and Lola Omotayo, drove into the school with cakes and the Wizkid surprise. Cameron is a ‘Minnie’ pupil in the high-scale Lagos pre-school nursery.  He clocked three years old.

The proud father tweeted pictures from the surprise visit using his official handle @Peter Square – ‘Surprised my son 2day wit @wizkidayo cos he is a fan.‘

According to eye witnesses, the parents arrived together with Wizkid and body guards. That unsettled the school a bit as the children were distracted by the familiar faces.  The hugs, birthday songs, cheers and picture session soon overwhelmed Cameron, who shares date with another classmate, and the kid soon reportedly, asked his dad to leave.

While Cameron’s teachers shared party packs to his class mates, the parents took some alone time in the school garden hugging, kissing and catching up.  The whole school was served cakes and drinks courtesy of the Okoyes.

Peter Okoye, 31 and Lola Omotayo, 38 were a popular love item in 2007 and 2008 before Lola took in and delivered the Pop star’s first and only child. The lovers have since refrained from joint public appearances leaving all to ponder on the true state of their relationship. Lola was last spotted at ‘the Invasion’ concert and album launch hosted by her son’s father and his twin last July in Lagos, Nigeria.
